Nintendo continue to remain on a winning streak as the company’s current hand-held endeavour the Nintendo DS continues to remain significantly more popular than its rival, the Sony PSP.
To help strengthen this claim Nintendo has upped its DS sales forecast from 17 million to 20 million, which stands in glaring contrast to Sony who recently dropped their PSP sales forecast by a significant 3 million units.
Nintendo also announced that it has seen a first-half sales increase of 70 percent to 299 billion yen. This indicates that the company’s profits for the start of this year have trebled to 67 billion yen, which I’m sure the company are more than ecstatic about.
Those are some quite impressive numbers. The DS is definitely doing well.
It certainly is, and deservedly so.
It shall be interesting to see how the hand-held fares this Christmas, in the advent of the new gaming consoles being unleashed upon rabid consumers.
