Nintendo Wii: Rare Unsure Why Donkey Kong 64 Isn’t On Virtual Console

rare_logo

Whilst many gamers are clamouring to know why the well-received Donkey Kong 64 has yet to appear on the Wii Virtual Console, developer Rare it seems have no idea.

“I have no idea why DK64 hasn’t shown up yet, and whether Jetpac would still be in there or they’d replace it with Mario’s Cement Factory (which ate about three years of my life as a child) or something. Or maybe a single-screen 2D shooty version of Jet Race would be more appropriate. Who knows? Not us, obviously, or we wouldn’t be sitting here pitching clueless alternatives.”

rare_logo

The chances of Rare striking a deal with Nintendo to bring the classic Goldeneye to the Wii Virtual Console is looking extremely slim.

“That was some time ago, my friend.”

“Fate was against us that day. Destiny conspired to raise the hurdles even as we attempted to clear them, resulting in unpleasant groinal injury.”

“I suspect we’re long past the stage where an agreement was on the cards, but you never know. Stranger things have happened… somewhere… probably,”

Nintendo Wii: GoldenEye Designer Wants Game On Wii Virtual Console

goldeneye64

Martin Hollis, lead designer for GoldenEye on the Nintendo 64, is currently pining for the franchise to appear on the Wii Virtual Console.

Whilst he doesn’t believe we’re going to see the fabled first person shooter on the system due primarily to the ongoing battle between Microsoft and Nintendo, he’d still be absolutely overjoyed to see it happen.

There’s always someone with some exclusivity agreement, so there’s lots of lawyers… I’m not going to hold my breath. I’d love it to happen, but I can’t see it.
