Amazon have taken one step further and have slashed the pricing of the Nintendo Wii in the UK to £139.99
Whilst most retailers are selling the Nintendo Wii for the recommended retail price of £179.99, Amazon have effectively started a price war and have seen fit to stock the console for £60 less than its competitors.

Nintendo have announced finally announced the long awaited release date for Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story.
Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story will launch in the United Kingdom on the 9th October 2009 for the Nintendo DS.
The story sees the evil Fawful attempting to conquer the Mushroom Kingdom by tricking Bowser into inhaling everyone inside Princess Peach’s castle, including Mario and Luigi. So the pair have to work with Bowser to stop Fawful and save the Mushroom Kingdom. But can Bowser be trusted?

Pilotwings, the definitive flight game on the Super Nintendo, is set to land on the UK Virtual Console this Friday.
In Pilotwings, you take control of a range of flying machines and complete various challenges to advance through the ranks.
You can jump into a biplane and fly through the floating rings before bringing it down for a pinpoint landing, perform a precision skydive on to a distant ground target, soar silently from a hang glider and catch the thermals or even test the experimental Rocketbelt.

Three of the top selling games in the United Kingdom this year have been Nintendo Wii titles.
Wii Fit, Wii Play and Mario Kart Wii are the top three best-selling games in the UK so far this year. Following closely behind these three titles is Professor Layton and the Curious Village for the Nintendo DS in fourth place, and Killzone 2 for the PlayStation 3 at five.

Wii Fit has continues it’s reign of the UK software chart, with the title holding the Wii number one spot for its fifteenth consecutive week.
Wii Fit has become the Nintendo’s longest-serving UK number one in the all platforms chart even managing to surpass sales of the fabled Pokemon Yellow for the Gameboy Advance.

With news arriving last week confirming Nintendo’s ambitious plans to raise the trade price of the Wii, many smaller gaming emporiums have been left shocked and disappointed.
Whilst it’s apparent large supermarkets and chain-stores will continue to stock the Wii for £179.99, smaller retail outlets are likely to hike-up the price of the unit. The current trade price is set to increase by £17, which Nintendo attributes to the ‘continuing depreciation of the pound’.

Due in part to the economic downturn facing Britain, Nintendo have decided to raise the trade price on the Wii console to British retailers.
Whilst it’s not been decided whether or not the prices will be hiked for the British consumer, retail outlets will undoubtedly be discontent that they’re paying more for the console at trade than they ever have done before.

With the festive season fast approaching it comes as no immediate surprise to see major retail outlets trying to outdo each other with regards to hardware pricing. This year major supermarket chain Asda is dropping the price of the Wii to the wallet friendly price of £157.00.

Disaster Day of Crisis has flopped spectacularly in retail outlets throughout Europe, with the action adventure title thoroughly unable to break into the all-important top 50 all formats chart in the UK.

In a desperate attempt to thwart modders from tinkering with the delicate innards of the Nintendo Wii, the company have decided to cover the standard chip solder points with a black resin that’s currently resistant to the intensity of a heat gun.
