Reggie Fils-Aime forthrightly confessed to Reuters that he suspects Wii shortages will continue well into 2008.
“The level of demand we are facing complicates all of our future business planning. All of that becomes a much tougher exercise until we have supply and demand curves that intersect,”

The New York Times calculates that Nintendo is losing ‘billions‘ in sales due to shortage of stock.
Increased demand for both the Wii and the DS has seen more consoles shifting off shelves than Nintendo are currently able to produce, leaving analysts pondering at just how much revenue Nintendo is losing out on.

Due to the public’s insatiable appetite for the Wii console, Nintendo have been forced to withdraw their promotional adds.
With all major video gaming retailers reporting significant stock shortages Nintendo claim it would be “irresponsible to continue with the campaign.”

With an insurmountable number of consumers clamouring for the Wii stock mightn’t level out until April 2008.
Top video gaming analyst Michael Patcher is confident that Wii stock levels won’t actually level out until around April as supply’s of the console continue to be unbelievably scarce.
