September has been another hugely successful month for Nintendo with the Wii shifting an astounding 687,000 units and the DS Lite just slightly trailing behind with 536.8K units.

Nintendo: Nintendo Sales Absolutely Decimate Competition

July’s hardware sales data is finally in courtesy of the NPD Group. The figures see Nintendo residing high atop the charts riding on the success of both the Wii and the Ds.

  • Nintendo DS – 608,400
  • Wii – 555,000
  • PlayStation 3 – 224,900
  • PSP – 221,700
  • Xbox 360 – 204,800
  • PlayStation 2 – 155,500

Nintendo Wii: Nintendo Remains A Dominant Force In America

Eclipsing sales of its rivals, Nintendo’s hardware figures continue to impress and astound.

During the month of May both the Wii and the Ds sat firmly atop of the sales charts selling an astounding 675,089 and 452,608 units respectively. To put these incredible sales records in perspective the Wii held a 63% share of the next-gen market, whilst the DS owned 71% of the hand-held market.

Nintendo Wii: Wii Continues To Outsell PlayStation 3

In 2007 the Nintendo Wii outsold the Sony PlayStation 3 three to one according to Enterbrain Inc.

Wrapping up the 2007 sales figures, veteran industry researcher Enterbrain Inc have reported that an unprecedented 3.63 million Wii units were sold last year contrasting rather starkly against the 1.21 million PlayStation 3 consoles sold.

Nintendo Wii: Nintendo Wii Already Outsells Gamecube

In 54 weeks the Wii has trounced the Gamecube’s lifetime sales figures.

Reports are filtering through which suggest that the Gamecube’s overall sales figures have already been obliterated by the Nintendo Wii in the Far East, amounting to an incredulous 4 million Wii units shifted in just over a year.

Nintendo Wii: Super Mario Galaxy Shifts Over 500,000 Units In America

The sublime Mario Galaxy has taken the American video gaming charts by storm as 500,000 units fly off store shelves.

“Super Mario Galaxy had the strongest one-week debut of any Wii game to date and has also become the best-selling Mario title ever in its first week, with US sales of more than 500,000, based on internal sales figures.”

Nintendo Wii: Xbox 360 Sales Overthrow Nintendo Wii From Top Spot

Incredulously for the first time in nigh on 26 weeks, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console has eventually reclaimed the numero uno position.

Due in no small part to the monumental release of acclaimed first person shooter Halo 3, Xbox 360 hardware sales doubled the previous weeks sales figures. Could we be seeing a change in fortune for Microsoft’s gaming format, or is it as many expect, just a once off?
