Action has recently been taken regarding the influx of hackers and cheaters on Sega’s recently released The Conduit.
Initially online players were finding themselves competing against other players who were able to produce infinite ammo and infinite health, now the situation has gotten even worse. Thankfully both Sega and High Voltage have decided to issue the ‘banhammer‘ to any such players found abusing or cheating throughout online matches.

An undisclosed online title from a major development studio is apparently set to ditch the ‘unfriendly’ friend code system that the Wii utilizes to connect gamers online.
This rumour comes directly from none-other than industry heavyweight Matt Casamassina and online gaming publication N-Europe, who’ll both hopefully provide more specific information over the coming days.

Speaking to revered gaming publication Edge, Animal Crossing creator Katsuya Eguchi discussed at length how players will revel in the online aspects of the game.
You’ll also be able to do more than ever together when you play online. You’ll be able to experience events or see concerts together, for example. And while in the DS version we discarded a lot of events that were popular in the GameCube version, we’re bringing them back. We’re including Halloween, we’re bringing back Jingle, the reindeer that visits during the holiday event, and we’ve got some new events, too. For example, during spring we’ve got a special visitor who brings paint and eggs so you can have an egg hunt, and we also have a carnival that’ll introduces another new character to the Animal Crossing world.

Speaking rather openly to online gaming publication Gamedaily, Nintendo boss Saturo Iwata freely admitted that the Wii’s online functionality isn’t providing consumers with the optimum experience.
“First of all, I don’t think the current system we have with friend codes is perfect. However, if it’s an online world where you can get access to anybody without any restrictions, I as a father do not feel like allowing my daughter be engaged in that kind of world. “So for Nintendo, especially in terms of the people who have never experienced online video games before, we think that it’s still very important to create a world where we can assure that there will be no harassment for these online beginners, and we really want to assure the security and safety for them to do that.
“So we will be studying this on an ongoing basis in order to improve Nintendo’s own circumstances where people can freely and safely enjoy the communications through the net.”

Nintendo have just unveiled their latest Mario Kart Wii competition which will pit worldwide competitors against each other on the classic GBA Battle Course 3.
Only players who use the Wii Steering wheel as their control method of choice will be eligible for this competition, so unfortunately those of you who wish to enter the competition with the classic controller or GameCube controller unfortunately won’t be able to do so.

Videogamesblogger have meticulously dissected and cross examined every essential piece of information that points towards Animal Crossing Wii making its début at this years E3 event.
Although evidently nothing has been officially confirmed by Nintendo, it’s long been rumoured that the next instalment in the life-sim franchise will take the guise as an MMO (massively mutliplayer online game).

Slates very own Jack Patrick Rodger apparently doesn’t hesitate to pull any punches with regards to the Wii’s online capability’s.
It’s legitimate to ask whether the Wii needs an online service as rich and powerful as Xbox Live …. Much of the Wii’s charm comes in watching your friends and family make fools out of themselves by swinging the remote like a baseball bat; that sort of amusement would be lost online. But it’s important to note that many of the Wii’s games (including Brawl) don’t require physical exercise and are similar to the games on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. And while Nintendo could be forgiven for designing a more streamlined network than Live in order to appeal to casual gamers, the one they’ve given Wii owners makes it difficult to do even the most basic things, like interact with your friends.

Those looking for a Nintendo branded massively multiplayer online game aren’t going to be satisfied any time soon.
Nintendo will only pursue MMO development if the title could appeal to people of all ages, from “5 to 95.” Looking at Second Life, Iwata belives that MMOs aren’t yet accessible to people without a fair degree of computer literacy, and that Nintendo would want to successfully cross that bridge before considering going the MMO route
