It appears the Nintendo DSi is the console of choice for consumers in Japan as Media Create’s hardware chart for September 28th through to October 4th shows.

Six of the top ten software titles in the Japanese charts are currently for Nintendo platforms.
Nintendo is currently dominating the Japanese software charts with an impressive six of the top ten titles for either the Nintendo Wii or Nintendo DS/DSi. Nintendo incredulously show no significant signs of slowing down any time soon.

Capcom’s recently released Monster Hunter 3 has quadrupled Nintendo Wii sales throughout Japan.
The critically acclaimed Monster Hunter 3 has shifted a monstrous amount of Wii units in Japan. Sales for the Nintendo Wii were 95,357, up from about 24,000 units the week prior. Looks as though Nintendo are thoroughly reaping the benefits of the franchise appearing on their console.

Nintendo is now allowing Japanese and European DSi owners to connect to popular social networking site Facebook.
Nintendo DSi owners can now upload Facebook pics and access their accounts when upgraded to the system’s version 1.4 firmware. With Facebook adoption being excessively high in the West it shouldn’t be too long before gamers in the States receive this handy update.

Nintendo have announced that they’re set to release three versions of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon For WiiWare.
The latest popular Mystery Dungeon game will be released as three different versions: Pokémon: Mysterious Dungeon – Proceed Forward! Flame Adventurers!, Pokémon: Mysterious Dungeon – Let’s Go! Storm Adventurers, and Pokémon: Mysterious Dungeon – Focus! Light Adventurers. The main difference between each version is the different starter Pokémon to choose from and different Pokémon base location.

Both the eagerly awaited Pokemon Heart Gold & Soul Silver have been given a September 12th release date in Japan.
Whilst both Pokemon Heart Gold & Soul Silver come equipt with a Pokeball-shaped pedometer it’s confirmed that this bundled peripheral will come at no extra cost to consumers.

Nintendo of Japan is planning to allow users to have unlimited access to additional Wii Room Channels.
Wii Rooms, which are available for gamers in Japan, allow users to gather around in a virtual room and watch sponsored video footage on a variety of subjects. Whilst these novelty spaces have yet to launch here, Nintendo are hard at work trademarking new rooms for a possible release in the West.

Rumours are circulating that Nintendo plans to hold another press conference after this years E3 event in Los Angeles.
The event, which is speculated to take place in Japan, could put a serious damper on what Nintendo decides to announce at this years E3 conference. The company did a similar event last year after E3 in which it revealed the Nintendo DSi to an unsuspecting audience. Does this mean another lacklustre presentation from Nintendo in the vein of last years E3? We will have to wait and see.

Nintendo have unleashed a new channel for hungry Wii owners in Japan titled The Demae Channel (Catering Channel)
The Demae Channel allows Wii owners to point, click and order their wanted dinner with the Wii remote. Food categories included in the Demae Channel include pizza, sushi, bento boxes, Chinese food, Western food, and others. Sadly no word as yet has been mentioned regarding a Western release, but fingers crossed we will hear something at next weeks E3 conference.
