Shigeru Miyamoto has confessed that a new addition to the Zelda franchise is in development for the Nintendo Wii.
Speaking at Nintendo’s E3’s round table discussion, Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed to developers and journalists that a version of Zelda is in the works for the Nintendo Wii. Unfortunately Miyamoto decided to hold back from announcing it at Nintendo’s press conference yesterday, instead he treated round table journalists to a single oil painted image of Link which is pivotal to the storyline.
To be honest with you, I really wanted to announce a Zelda game for Wii at this E3. But rather than think about something to bring you to show you, we really wanted to focus on actual game development,” he said. “However I didn’t want to come empty handed, so I did bring the next illustration for the next Zelda title. We’d like to make it compatible with Wii MotionPlus. It’s quite possible it will be playable only with Wii MotionPlus. I would like to say we hope to bring it to you next year. It may take a little longer.

There were some surprising revelations at Nintendo’s E3 press conference today with some new key titles revealed.
Whilst speculation was rife regarding what the ultra-secretive Nintendo would announce I can now confirm that New Super Mario Brothers Wii and Wii Fit Plus were revealed, though to a thoroughly non-responsive crowd.
The overall atmosphere thankfully changed for the better as Nintendo causally left the best for last by announcing the sublime Super Mario Galaxy 2 and the frankly awesome looking Super Metroid: Other M. Both of these fresh, exclusive Wii titles took the audience by storm creating a buzz that reverberated throughout the entire conference hall.

Rumours are circulating that Nintendo plans to hold another press conference after this years E3 event in Los Angeles.
The event, which is speculated to take place in Japan, could put a serious damper on what Nintendo decides to announce at this years E3 conference. The company did a similar event last year after E3 in which it revealed the Nintendo DSi to an unsuspecting audience. Does this mean another lacklustre presentation from Nintendo in the vein of last years E3? We will have to wait and see.

Nintendo’s prodigal game designer/developer Shigeru Miyamoto won’t be making a centre stage appearance at this years Nintendo press conference at E3.
Online gaming publication, Eurogamer, have stated that Mr Miyamoto won’t be making an appearance at Nintendo’s E3 press conference next month. Instead we will be graced by the presence of Satoru Iwata, Reggie Fils-Aime and Cammie Dunaway, executive vice president of sales and marketing for NoA, who participated in the conference last year.

Nintendo of America President, Reggie Fils-Aime, has started the E3 hype train rolling by promising sneak peaks at ‘key titles’ at this years event in Los Angeles.
E3 brings a wide variety of key audiences into contact with products from many companies, including Nintendo. It’s the place where creativity is on display, and as a ‘sneak peak’ for our entire industry it helps generate excitement for gamers around the world.

With an array of promising new software to be unveiled at this years E3 event, Nintendo vow to show a captivating amount of new titles this year to make up for last years anti-climax.
Whilst nothings been confirmed, it does seem apparent that Nintendo are embracing the press more than usual during the run up to this years E3 event. Hopefully this means that we will given more insight into some of the bigger titles that are currently under top-secret development at Nintendo R&D, unlike last years event in which we saw a disappointingly small scattering of first party titles.
We haven’t announced a launch date for The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, maybe we’ll do that at E3. You know, everyone wants to know what we’re going to announce at E3 and my answer is, come to E3 and you’ll see…
From Nintendo’s perspective, we always go into E3 with a very high bar wanting to satisfy not only the core fans but also ourselves. We’re hoping to do a much better job this year. You’ll have to see for yourself.

Nintendo marketing executive Cammie Dunaway is set to take centre stage again for this years E3 event.
Whilst a small minority of Nintendo fans will be disheartened to hear that the slightly eccentric Cammie Dunaway is set to head Nintendo’s presence at E3 2009, she personally believes that this years event is all about one thing, and one thing only – the games.
“Well, because, I’m going to be up on stage presenting, something that your fans ought to love, but I’m not gonna snowboard, I’m not gonna show my mother’s day card. I’m just going to talk about the games.” And smile! A LOT.

Nintendo of America President, Reggie Fils-Aime has dramatically spoken out about what he deems to be a bad representation of Wii music by both the gaming press and Nintendo fans in general.
What’s powerful in Wii Music is this juxtaposition of something that looks so simple but is wonderfully difficult to master. We may have done that title an injustice at E3 by showing something that looked so easy. We made it appear too simple. Now we’re showing the tremendous variety of instruments and tones and how challenging it is to make music that sounds good.

Katsuya Eguchi calmly reassured those who were bemoaning the lack of ‘hardcore’ titles at Nintendo’s E3 press conference that there’s plenty of depth in the next generation of Nintendo games.
Whilst being questioned and quizzed by the gaming press regarding the overall depth of Wii Sports Resort Katsuya Eguchi commented that the forthcoming ‘causal’ title will even “surpass Wave Race 64 in depth.”

To allay any fears Miyamoto has announced that Pikmin is currently being developed.
Whilst no specifics or consoles were mentioned, the Wii has always been thought of as being the perfect console for Pikmin primarily due to its intuitive and precise control scheme.
