Whilst many gamers are clamouring to play the latest instalment of the Resident Evil franchise on Wii, Capcom say that isn’t to be.
“I think, while Resident Evil 4 is a great game, its appeal was limited somewhat to maniac players,”
“With RE5, I wanted to bring the series to a larger audience. I think its important to do the same for the next RE.”
“With the difference between hardware specs for the Wii and the PS3, porting might be hard. We currently have no plans.”

Capcom are promising a “monster surprise” for gamers this coming Monday.
Monday will see Capcom revealing what it describes as a “monster surprise” on their European forums and the Capcom Unity blog. Obvious indications lean towards a surprise announcement regarding the highly anticipated Monster Hunter 3 heading to the West. We will certainly have to wait and see…

Capcom have announced that they’re teaming up with Nintendo to promote the immensely popular Monster Hunter 3 overseas.
According to Japan’s Nihon Keizai Shimbun financial newspaper Capcom will be doubling its strength by teaming up with Nintendo to promote Monster Hunter 3. The developer, which sold over 500,000 units of the game in its first two days, will be making use of Nintendo’s expertise in promoting the Pokemon franchise to help further increase sales.

Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles producer Masachika Kawata believes that his teams new title sets a new standard for in-game visuals on the Nintendo Wii.
“I think it’s perfectly possible to create great horror presentation on the Wii. In fact, unfortunately, we’re not able to show it off just yet, but very shortly we’re hoping to show off a stage from a new scenario and I think when fans get a look at that they will really be asking themselves, is this really on the Wii? Actually, we went to Nintendo’s offices earlier on this month to show them this new stage and they were really, really impressed by it and impressed by what we were able to get out of the Wii.”

Developers at Nintendo HQ are reportedly extremely impressed by the visuals of Monster Hunter 3.
The Nintendo development team behind the critically acclaimed Zelda franchise have stated that they’ve really felt the pressure after seeing the glorious Monster Hunter 3 in motion. Capcom’s initial plan was to make the long awaited Monster Hunter 3 a graphical achievement on Nintendo Wii. Something it looks like they’ve fully achieved.

Whilst Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners have already been graced by the latest edition of the Resident Evil franchise, Wii owners could still be in for a surprise.
We have not decided whether we are doing it or not doing it…up until now, after releasing our PS3 and Xbox 360 games, we have brought them to Wii. Basically, this is the approach we are considering taking.

Capcom has officially confirmed that its forthcoming Resident Evil: Archives is set for release in June.
Resident Evil: Archives the remake of the original Resident Evil for the PlayStation One is destined for the Wii, June 23rd. A European release for the classic survival horror title is also due to arrive shortly after.

As well as the previously announced Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, Capcom have seen fit to announce another two Resident Evil titles for the Nintendo Wii.
Whilst Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles is a completely new chapter in the Resident Evil franchise, the other two games are direct Gamecube ports of Resident Evil and Resident Evil: Zero, both of which feature full Wii control support and a budget price tag.

It’s no lie to admit that Wii owners were bitterly disappointed to learn that Resident Evil 5 wasn’t heading to Wii, after all, we were treated to Capcom’s definitive port of Resident Evil 4.
Well, it looks as though the firm are set to make emends for this mis-endeavour, as according to Capcom’s Associate Product Marketing Manager, Matt Dahlgren, “Wii fans will be very happy very soon.” Who knows what we’re in store for…

Masachika Kawat, producer of the Resident Evil franchise has informed online gaming publication Eurogamer that he wishes to create a new Resident Evil title solely for Wii.
Speaking to Eurogamer, Kawat mentions that whilst he personally understands Wii owners despair that Resident Evil 5 didn’t surface on their beloved console, but they definitely shouldn’t dismiss the developer just yet.
