
Whilst the Nintendo DSi continues to take American consumers by storm, other gaming formats aren’t fairing quite so well.
According to Aprils NPD figures the recently released Nintendo DSi is still truly captivating American audiences, whilst the Wii, Xbox 360 and particularly the PS3 are having a fairly difficult time. To put things into perspective last April saw the Nintendo Wii sell in excess of 714,200 consoles, this year however sees it only managing to shift a mere 340,000 units.

The American DSi store is set to open for consumers, Sunday, and will include a new Brain Age title.
Brain Age: Express Math is as you’ve correctly guessed a maths related game which sees gamers immerse themselves in all sorts of new and old brain training exercises. The training game also comes with a newly fledged Themes mode which allows users to experiment with both images and voice recordings courtesy of the DSi.

Once again it appears as though Nintendo is dominating the US hardware charts with the Wii continuously holding the highly sought-after top spot.
Nintendo platforms in total sold an incredible 1.4 million units throughout the month of February, with the Nintendo Wii shifting 753,000 units, and the Nintendo DS shifting a more-than-respectable 588,000 units.

Official confirmation of the Nintendo DSi launch window has been released by Nintendo Europe.
Whilst no particular date has been confirmed for Nintendo’s next portable gaming device, Spring or Summer is the vague launch schedule given by Nintendo Europe. Nintendo of America on the other hand suggest it should be hitting the streets of the US sometime in the Spring.

Eclipsing sales of its rivals, Nintendo’s hardware figures continue to impress and astound.
During the month of May both the Wii and the Ds sat firmly atop of the sales charts selling an astounding 675,089 and 452,608 units respectively. To put these incredible sales records in perspective the Wii held a 63% share of the next-gen market, whilst the DS owned 71% of the hand-held market.

Industry analyst Michael Pachter claims Nintendo shipped 4 times the amount of Wii fit to Europe because of the strong Euro.
The LA Times ran an intriguing article yesterday regarding the current Wii Fit fisaco in the United States. The article itself contained some choice words from Michael Pachter, an analyst with Wedbush Morgan Securities who’s in little doubt that Nintendo are maximizing their profits by sending four times as many Wii Fit units to Europe.

Consumers are snapping up Wii Fit with feverish demand as stock sells out all over America.
Brian White over at Bloggging Stocks visited eleven major retails outlets in the United States to obtain a copy of the elusive Wii Fit and returned empty handed as Wii Fit mania dominates American soil.

The freshly announced Resident Evil Zero for Wii could possibly see a release outside the land of the rising sun.
Chris Kramer, Capcom’s respected head of US public relations scribbled the following evaluation on his personal webblog; “We are watching the progress on the game, and if it ends up blowing up huge like RE4 Wii did, we’ll evaluate the possibility of bringing it over here and flipping the lingo sos that y’all can read it.”
