Nintendo Wii: Korean Wii Sales Off To A Slow Start

The Wii has shifted a meagre 35,000 – 40,000 units during its first month on sale in Korea.

This decidedly poor reception for such a well received console worldwide is supposedly down to Nintendo’s ultra-strict regional coding, which of course locks games down to their specific territory.

    That surprises me, Nintendo see to have got it spot on wit all their other releases. Here in the UK demand has outstripped supply for 18 months, peaking again with the release of Wii fit.

  4. I was debating on buying while I stay in Korea. The game selection seems weak and will not have an English option. Time to brush up on my Korean. :P
