Wii Sports sales in Japan have hit an unprecedented high with an estimated 3 million copies sold.
Unlike the rest of the world Japanese Wii’s do not come pre-bundled with Wii Sports, therefore it’s an amazing achievement for this particularly entertaining game to sell to one in two Wii owners in Japan.

Nintendo critically acclaimed and much loved Super Mario RPG will be making an appearance on the Wii Virtual Console.
At present the game is only shown upon the Virtual Console release schedule for Japan, but with a phenomenally large fan base both here and the rest of the world it’ll hopefully receive a world wide release.

Finally it appears as though the Nintendo Channel is going to be available to Europe and Australia tomorrow.
The channel which encompasses everything Nintendo allows users to access downloadable game demo’s, watch gaming videos and also review their most loved or most hated games.

It appears as though Capcom’s eagerly awaited Street Fighter IV isn’t in development for Wii.
The next gen iteration of the popular Street Fighter franchise will only be appearing this winter on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC formats, and not the Wii as many of us had hoped.

Neowin are reporting that Nintendo is currently in the process of phasing out the current Wii SKU in favour of a ‘new’ SKU.

Rumours are currently circulating regarding Sega’s infamous Shenmue franchise appearing on Wii.
This enticing rumour stemmed from Swedish gaming magazine, Game Reactor, who’re claiming that Shenmue 1and 2 will be making an appearnece on the Wii with additional Wii-mote mini games thrown in.

Nintendo have announced that they won’t be making an appearance at this years GC 2008 event in Leipzig.
The company are instead focusing on organizing their own promotions and tours and currently have plans to tour Germany during the second half of 2008.

Consumers are snapping up Wii Fit with feverish demand as stock sells out all over America.
Brian White over at Bloggging Stocks visited eleven major retails outlets in the United States to obtain a copy of the elusive Wii Fit and returned empty handed as Wii Fit mania dominates American soil.
